The Mobbies 2011 Mid-Season Awards
Well to be honest, I was pleasantly surprised to say the least when I saw the voting turnout for the voting for the #BillsMafia mid-season awards, a.k.a. “The Mobbies.”
These awards take into consideration performance through the first 8 contents of the season (Chiefs through Jets games).
I expected maybe ten or so votes total between the four awards, but to my delight no one award received less than 50 votes, so I can’t say thank you enough.
Without further adieu, I want to present the winners of The Mobbies 2011 Mid-Season Awards…

Fred Jackson, Offensive Player of the Half-Year
Fred won the award with a whopping 77% of the vote, the highest percentage out of the four awards that were up for consideration. He beat out Ryan Fitzpatrick, Andy Levitre, and Stevie Johnson.

George Wilson, Defensive MVP of the Half-Year
George was awarded Defensive MVP with 70% of the vote — beating out Nick Barnett, Drayton Florence, and Jairus Byrd.

Scott Chandler, Surprise Player of the Half-Year
The Surprise Player of the Half-Year goes to the player who is within one touchdown of setting a team record for touchdowns in a season by a Tight End… Scott Chandler! Other players up for consideration were George Wilson, Demetrius Bell, and Erik Pears. Scott won with 48% of the overall vote.
Drayton’s historic play (41% of overall vote) bested David Nelson’s 4th down TD catch vs. the Raiders, Nick Barnett’s pick 6 on Mike Vick, and Fred Jackson’s 80 yd TD run vs. the Giants.
Congrats to the winners and we’re looking forward to see what the second half of the 2011 season brings!
Once again, Bills Mafia thank you again from the bottom of my heart for turning out to vote last week and let’s turn this season around!
