Godmother’s of BillsMafia: Bills at Titans Postgame Report

Photo from thecomeback.com.

Apparently the Godmothers were the only Bills fans left who were NOT in Nashville for the Bills/Titans game, but they had something to say about it anyway. While BillsMafia took over Nashville, the girls were busy poking pins in their Taylor Lewan voodoo dolls and sending all their mojo to Jordan Phillips. These ladies know what they’re doing!

BillsMafia took over Nashville and the team brought home the W, 14-7 to be exact. But before we bask in the sunshine of all that winning during bye week with the Bills sitting at 4-1, the Godmothers want the last word after this delightful little game in Tennessee.

This win got our Godmother of Songs @BILLieve88 belting her heart out after the victory.

The Tennessee Titans showed up to their stadium hoping for another miracle but all they got was some pretty cool music courtesy of Bills Mafia….DUUUUUUKKKKEEEE!

Another close win for the Buffalo Bills and lucky for them the Titan’s Kicker had a day…a very bad day missing four field goals.  For the Buffalo Bills as expected, the defense came to play, special teams weren’t a liability and although it was another low scoring game, the offense took several steps forward and reduced the number of turnovers.

Balled Out:

1.       Jordan Phillips– he is probably somewhere still sacking Marcus Mariota.

2.       John Brown– He steps up to the challenge whenever his number is called.

3.       Duke Williams– Duke did not disappoint in his first NFL start.

4.       Josh Allen– Although he threw another pick but showed growth and better decision-making abilities throughout the game.

Flamed Out:

1.       Tommy Sweeney/Dawson Knox– both TE’s left too many plays out on the field and had a disappointing game.

2.       Brian Daboll– play selection was a bit bland and his unit had another poor performance in the 3rd quarter.

Next up, the Godmother of Bar Fights @KrystleNoel1128 filed this report.

Too bad Krystle wasn’t at this event. I’m sure they could have used her muscle.

Was it easy?  No. Was it pretty?  Absolutely not. But Buffalo was able to squeak out the win. Some after-game thoughts:

Ladies and gents, welcoming Duke Williams! Very excited for this guy and it was definitely fun watching him play!  I think watching this guy is even better seeing how emotional and humble he is to be playing. With the departure of Zay Jones, the speculation finally ends on what the Bills would do with him. Now the next question is… is this the only trade the Bills make?

As for Josh Allen. He did a better job of minimizing the turnovers however his one interception did have a big effect on the game. But I can’t complain. He had one of his best games in terms of completion percentage of his entire career. Let’s hope our fearless leader can take this time to reflect, refocus, and be prepared for Miami in 2 weeks.

Our defense shines once again.  A BIG hand to Jordan Phillips for his 3 sack game. He was very impressive to watch and you could tell he loves being a part of this team.  And if anyone has not had a chance to witness the Twitter tirade between Shaq Lawson, Jordan Phillips and the Titans’ OL Taylor Lewan, do yourself a favor and read how our defensive linemen own Lewan on and off the field!

I’m really looking forward to giving our boys a week to rest up and get healthy. I’m hoping that after the bye week we will see the return of Devin Singletary and Taron Johnson.  Rest up fellow fans, next we take on the hot mess Dolphins. Despite their struggles, division games are never one we want to rest on. Hopefully we can come home and get another win!

While our Godmother living her best life @AshleyPetty_ is out there looking for her car, she did manage to find time to file a beautiful report.

W O W. Another roller coaster win from this football team as they remain perfect on the road.

Despite all the negative naysayers of Josh Allen, he had one of his best days as a Buffalo Bill. Other than the one interception (3rd quarters seem to be plaguing this football team) he went 23-for-32 for 219 yards and two touchdowns, with a season high 98.3 QB rating and a career best 71.9 completion percentage. You could clearly see Allen was making better decisions and taking a sack, throwing the ball away sooner, or putting it only where his receiver could get to it.

Coming in this was always going to be a battle of the defenses and a low scoring game. A big play breakout was what one offense needed the most and the Titans ALMOST had it, but it was Isaiah McKenzie who went for 46 yards and helped the Bills get downfield and score later that drive.

WHO WAS KEY

Duke Williams made a huge impact in his NFL debut playing 51 of 65 offensive snaps, catching all four passes thrown his way, including the game winning touchdown. What a special moment it was for him between the path he’s traveled and all the hard work he’s put in to get to this point had paid off.

Jordan Phillips- CAREER. DAY. Three sacks for Phillips when previously he only had six in his career. He has proven he will be a force to be reckoned with and someone opposing offensive lines should keep an eye out for.

Tremaine Edmunds- He may not be all over the stats sheet but he was all over the field Sunday- his play definitely created an impact yesterday. To this point he had a lot of naysayers as well but he is showing up when it counts.

Offensive Line- Despite injuries to Ty Nsekhe, Mitch Morse and Cody Ford, Those who were next in line or had to shuffle around did a fantastic job. Jon Feliciano, Ryan Bates and Spencer Long made it hard to see any sort of drop off (if any) on the line while protecting Allen.

Cairo Santos- Sorry, had to do it!

This bye week could not be coming at a better time for this team as the injuries PILED up yesterday, especially on the offensive line. Hopefully this bye week will give these players the time they need to heal up for the remainder of the season.

And one more thing…IT WAS AN ILLEGAL FORWARD PASS THAT HELPED US WIN THE FOOTBALL GAME.

Our Godmother of Podcasting and the woman who makes it all happen @DanyelReneeBB threw in her FIVE cents about the game.

Ain’t no such thang as an ugly win and the Buffalo Bills defeated the Tennessee Titans in a hard-fought, battle of the trenches on Sunday.

Josh Allen wasn’t asked to do much and, aside from his one bad interception (once which it looked as if RB TJ Yeldon stopped his route and Allen was expecting him to be there), he has a quietly impressive day. He threw balls away that didn’t have a chance and learned, if not awkwardly, how to slide to protect his body.

Allen and John Brown have some real chemistry and Duke Williams is just the big-bodied WR the Bills need to go up and grab those contested balls that Josh likes to throw.

The offensive line was banged up as center Mitch Morse left with an ankle injury and Cody Ford suffered an injury to his head. Spencer Long and Ryan Bates seemed to have filled in admirably against a stout Titans defense.

The referees were pretty awful on the day, throwing unwarranted flags while missing a boatload of other calls. Several went the Bills’ way but, for the most part, the Titans benefited from poor refereeing, it seems.

The defense was stout as usual and only gave up one long drive after the sweltering heat and rain left them feeling a bit gassed. Other than that, the secondary showed why it’s an elite unit and the Titans’ offensive line was man-handled for five sacks on the day.

Coaching and clock management was also better on Sunday. Sometimes, Sean McDermott allows too much time to rumble off the clock or leaves too much on it. He’s known for wasting time outs and play-calling gets in the way now and then. That wasn’t the case yesterday.

The Bills faced adversity yesterday and came out with the win. Adversity makes a team and the Bills are MADE. They head into their bye week at 4-1 when they will rest up from all of the injuries that occurred yesterday and come back to play a struggling Miami team. Chins up, Bills fans. This is a playoff team.

Our Godmother of Upcoming Nuptials @celestealbone didn’t get a chance to make a sign for this game, but we imagine the one she’ll have for the Dolphins game on Oct. 20 won’t disappoint. Here’s her report.

Rain, phantom flags, and injuries oh my!!! Thank goodness for the bye week!!!!!

Before the season I felt the bye week was early but now it seems to have come at the perfect time.

4-1. We couldn’t of asked for a better record going into the bye (except of course, beating the patriots and being undefeated).

I’m sick of the crappy third quarters! We need to get that fixed. Josh Allen had a good game minus the interception but overall he was making better decisions.

Nothing sweeter than the Titans getting called for an illegal forward pass. Sweet sweet victory.

Not sure if it was the weather but hopefully all of the injuries will be good to go after the bye week. I have no doubt Devin Singletary will be back after the bye and at home against Miami, we should have a good game.

I want to commend all the Bills fans that traveled to Nashville. You really showed up today and screw some dumb internet poll. We know who we are.

And bringing up the rear (as usual), our Godmother of Dirty Diapers @BillsChick filed her typically sardonic report.

Well, well, well, four and one. The Bills have been here before and not make the playoffs. Actually they have been 5-1 before and not made the playoffs. So While I am cautiously optimistic, the key word is “cautiously”.

Josh Allen played well overall today, but he did give the other team seven points in a low scoring game, again. (Editor farts in her general direction). Not every team will have Cairos Santos miss 4 field goals so we can win.

Shout out to Jordan Phillips, he was amazing today. Probably the MVP of the  game.  Three sacks and he killed it overall. Duke Williams got the game winning touchdown and he played a good game overall as well with 4 receptions for 29 yards.

This game did not feel like a good win for me. Maybe my expectations were too high or I thought we’d see a breakout performance from the offense against a middling defense. And Tennessee has a middling defense per DVOA. They are 14th overall in DVOA.

A team that the Bills and Josh Allen should have scored more than 14 points on. The Bills defense is legit though, and they keep proving it every week. The bye week comes at a perfect time and hopefully our dudes can get healthy for Miami.

Oh who are we kidding, get ready for the Eagles, Miami is in the bag already [editor’s disclaimer: typical lawyer comment]

Editor’s babble: Nothing better than enjoying a bye week after a win with a 4-1 record. The Godmothers need a break, so they’ll be back when we get ready to preview the Dolphins game on Oct. 20. In the meantime, you can find me on Twitter @RobynMundyWYO.
